There's a good little park quite close by that we always have our takeaway at. I've had better food but this place is convenient for us. Staff are very friendly esp the girl behind thew counter

We have been coming to Scotties for 15 years and have enjoyed a good quality fish and seafood meal every time. Last night was different, we're not sure what happened but the experience was a shock. The price of the meals are high and when we were brought camping plates with a tiny bit of food our anniversary dinner became very sad.
The wine cost $34 dollars a bottle but tasted a lot like a cask wine. We will never go back. Unfortunately because we only live down the road and will tell everyone how unpleasant our meal was. The waitress had bad attitude too, like she was too good to be there and talked to us like we were her dog.

My first time I went to Scotties was truly wonderful, the fish and chips were fantastic and was also very cheap considering the standard. Every time I am in the Newcastle area I make the effort to go there. However unfortunately the last few times I went it, seemed the place was completely different, the prices had increased and the portions had gotten smaller, the fish was still great tasting, but now smaller. The chips which I had once loved were soggy and under cooked. This theme seems to have continued over my next few visits. I am unhappy to say I can't recommended this once great fish and chips shop.

We've been going to this fish cafe for close to 7 years, and it's better now than ever. All of our fish meals were cooked to perfection and had well thought out accompaniments. I dined at Scratchly's in the same week, and it was no where near as good as Scotties.
