Definitely needs an upgrade, the bathrooms are quite outdated and sometimes getting a hot shower is a mission. otherwise the location is perfect, staff are very helpful and pleasant. It's a nice serene environment and quite affordable too.

Super friendly and clean accommodation with lovely lawn and pool. Wi-Fi good but only in reception and dining area. Very conveniently located in the avenues.

This is an old rustic hotel trying to find its wayback. They have a long way to go. The place is an ideal part of town and will be a winner after renovations but much work still needs to be done

What a wonderful time we had in Harare this year, we stayed at the Russell in March of 2013 till early April 2013. The staff were very friendly on arrival and we had secure parking in the rear lot which is guarded by security which is nice. Rooms were spacious and well priced and the hotel just has a great combination of features for the price compared to other hotels. After settling in we used the swimming pool in the front garden which was really refreshing. Overall a really nice experience, comfortable and relaxing. We will back next year to stay. Harare is a wonderful city and staying in the Avenues was very close by which made it easy to explore and very convenient.
