I understand most doctor's are extremely busy. However, my time and urgency for certain requested documents are just as important as his, as well as his staff! Because of their lack of urgency to get me the letter I need from Dr. Bartel to the VA...my disability rating has been deferred for Sleep Apnea with the use of the CPAP machine (which Dr. Bartel ordered). I called several times requesting the letter from his nursing staff, and each and every time, they said, it will be ready and mailed out...still DO NOT have it, and it has been 2 MONTHS now! This kind of customer service and patient care help is UNACCEPTABLE. As a recently retired Command Chief, from the Wichita Falls area, I intend to file a complaint with the 82d Medical Group on their referral service (TOPA) about Dr. Bartel's office. If his staff or he himself can't find the time to address a former patients issues, maybe other military members or their dependents shouldn't be referred to his office!

I was seeing Dr echols, when echols suddenly lost his medical licence I went to Dr bartel ,first time. Upon leaving his office bartel said to me he would fax my prescriptions to my pharmacy, ( note, he said prescriptions, plural meaning both. My script for morphene sulfate was not there. After calling several times a day and hearing , the drs with patients, he faxed them, he doing it. Finally the next week I got someone on the phone who knew what was going on and she said, Your prescription has been at the front desk since last friday. Finally , when I gave the front desk person my drivers licence, which is I had been using , same license, same address for 3 years. But this time girl said your license address does not match your registered address and I can't give you the prescription7. (I don't drive any more). That I needed to go to the DMV and get it changed. I had been doing without my meds which I have been taking for 18 years for 10 days and although I hadn't abused them I had become addicted to them and going thru miserable withdrawal.I begged her to give it to me ,but she very snippally said no. I then pounded on the counter in illness and frustration. I went to the DMV and after doing paperwork and picture could not finish it because I had my husbands debit card, same account. At that time my daughter called me and told me she called bartels office and they would now give it to me if I signed a promise to get license address changed by the time I picked up next prescription. She did not speak to the same snippy girl I did. She could have done that in the first place. The following week I got a registered letter telling me Dr Bartell would not treat me any longer. When I saw Dr echols getting thru to the prescription line and getting Rx was like pulling teeth. Message box was often full, or they simply did not answer the phone. So my Rx was often late. I had gone to pain rehab 16 yrs and missed 1 appointment. Missed another one fault was theIrs, reminder call was not even on my phone log. After 16 yrs I was fired by them also. Gosh, pain doctors are a REAL PAIN!! I LATER CALLED BARTEL AND BEGGED TO SPEAK TO HIM WOMAN ON PHONE WAS very very mean and nasty. Telling me I should "know the rules. And Dr is overloaded by all of Dr echols patients. So that means he is throwing patients under the bus for no reason at all. I would like to see that man put in his place... He is an unprofessional dirty backstabber. When I told him I had been seeing Dr echols, he said He did pot in the morning and booze at night and I'm glad he's gone. If Dr echols was an alcoholic that doesn't make him a bad doctor, just a man with a weakness. Dr echols understood what I told him. He was a very good doctor. I think working alongside of bartel probably drove him to drink!! And yes, the place is VERY dirty.

Called to try to make an appt. on 7/14/17 11:45 a.m. after waiting on hold for over ten minutes. Finally the lady that answered the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. Forget there ever getting my business with that kind of treatment. Lady your in the wrong line of business get a life. Life is to short to lose business and make others experience challenging and hard because yours might be.

He is a great doctor but his staff is very rude and uncaring, left me 2 hr from home and said because of my insurance they wouldn't give me any MS medication and said go somewhere else Not very happy with them

Doctor seems knowledgeable but thats the only positive. The waiting room, that you will wait in 1-2 hours after your appointment time, is overcrowded and filthy. The screening rooms arent much better. Our room had the previous patient's personal data still up on a screen and medical equipment strewn about. Also, what medical facility has carpets in a screening room? Seems very unhygienic. When my daughter was finally seen the doctor and his assistant (mostly the assistant) came in and immediately started throwing out random guesses about what could be wrong without running a single test on her first. The worst part was when my wife told me afterward that the doctor's assistant kissed my baby. Who kisses strangers' babies?! Especially in a medical establishment. I was hoping i just caught them on a bad day, but i am currently here for the follow up and have already waited 45 min after my scheduled appointment time.
