I went to renew a taxi face id a dew days ago. Told tickets i have already paid through the taxicab company were still outstanding and i have to go take care of that. The whole process started when my name was displayed on the screen to go to the windows but they had someone cut lines and they pretended to work. After they gave me a list of ticket numbers, i went to 441 4th st to explain the situation and i got a stamped letter that i brought the next day
There goes the same process again, while my name was displayed on the screen i went to the counter only to have someone who happened to know the staff memebers cut infront of me while one of the people asked me what i needed and what my name was after i stood there for at least five mins. The condescending tone while ut was my turn was a clear display of what i was gonna get into. He told me to vo to the next window and the lady simply continued doing other things just so i get ignored. She even got out of her chair to go to the same guy that sent me to her to ask him if she can help the customer that he let cut me in front and he told her to go back to me. Before i said why i waa there, she snatched my face id and started listing reasons on how i can't renew my id. Without even asking what was going on. In a very rude way. Then i tried to speak to someone i spoke the previous day but they told me i will be helped right there. Then the original guy printed out a set of tickets that are completely different from what his co worker printed a day before. While she asked about my green card status and all unnecessary documents that dctc has on their files. Then he claims she was new and didn't know what she was doing but i have to pay the tickets he printed out. Its a very corrupt agency from the inspector hacks abusing and harrasing taxi drivers when they are not asking for money to look the other way. Then you go to the actual office to be treated less than animals while they keep having folk who have no clue of what they're doing as employees. If i had a choice, i wouldn't set foot in that place ever but i have to work. I hope someone sees this agency for what it is, a big scam running this big buisness of taxicabs with corrupted hacks and incompetents crom within. It should NOT exist as an agency is my take and DMV could do a much better job handling drivers professionaly.

Very UNPROFESSIONAL ! Starting with the Security check in the Lobby. They act as if they own the place. People at this location are a true reflection of what they stand for : ENTITLED, RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, BORDERLINE ABUSIVE employees. I'm a business owner who goes there to Pay them to give me some cheap ass Sticker to avoid a $1500 ticket if cought without. This is the best D.C. government can do. Create a corrupt government entity full of hateful, unprofessional people, give them a little power, and they are out like sharks. I'm not going there to make friends. People , not just myself deserve a little respect as I had seen everyone being treated as such while waiting for my turn. If I were managing the place, I will make sure to implement the culture of true professionalism and never bring your personal issues and flows into a government institution. I HAVE BEEN TREATD BETTER when I visited the White House, state department, Pentagon, Capitol Hill.

On 12/10/2016 my daughter caught a cab (#M063) red top from downtown Washington to go home after work. She often has problems with the cab drivers not knowing how to get to the address, which is on "O" Street, N.W. Either they don't have GPS or pretend they know and end up going around about which costs her more money. The same issue came up last night (12/10/2016), except the driver was quite rude after taking her nearest Dupont Circle. She asked him three times why he was going out of the way and he repeated the address incorrectly. He was taking her to 27th & N Street!! She told him the correct address prior to starting out and he distinctly said he knew. I know this because she was talking with me at the time. The driver became rude and she asked to be let out of his cab, which he leisurely complied and not before charging her a whopping $11.00 and refusing to give her his name. We tried calling various cab companies to get more information on him, however, his # was not registered with them. We telephoned the Department for Hire Hire Vehicles but could not speak with a live person or leave a message on the complaint line because the mailbox was "full". My daughter was traumatized by his demeanor. She was in tears while exiting his cab. There is a problem too often with the drivers behavior or lack of city street knowledge which costs the customer more money. I would like this driver reprimanded and demand a full refund for his incompetence and rude behavior. We were able to leave a message today (12/11/2016) by pushing another telephone prompt # and will wait until 1:00 pm tomorrow for a return call from the department. If we do not hear from the Commissioner's office, we will contact the media. This driver should not be allowed to work with the public and is representative of many others practice bully tactics on young women.

Nice facilities, friendly people, even the security folks at the front. Short wait time. Everybody seemed to be treated well. Unfortunately I wasn't able to accomplish what I had wanted to, but not their fault!

This is the worst experience at the dctc office employee. We came around 930a.m. only 3 or 4 customers sitting on the chairs waiting to be called. I add myself on the list the screen shows me 32 minutes. All 5 agents behind the counter were talking while customers sitting at the chairs waiting. Is this office has any supervision from dc government? I believe it is very imparstive to say the office needs serious supervision and cultural changes since people has other business to handle and if the line is open, everyone should move the line. It is a very nice office environment, like the tech but agents are not proactive to make this change real.

Thanks
