I found Back to Basics Massage when I was in desperate need of any treatment to recover from a bad car accident. It did take some insistence on my part to call and set an appointment. Nonetheless, I needed something highly effective.

Up until my deep tissue massage with Laura, I had been suffering chronic dizziness and lingering whiplash-related soreness throughout my whole body. Lo and behold, that one massage made an ENORMOUS difference in my recovery. Almost instantaneously, the dizziness and soreness evaporated!!

I made another appointment with Laura the month after, and I likely will make another one in the near future. Thank you again!

I recently booked an appointment for a couples massage at Back to Basics Massage for my wife and I. My wife is pregnant with our first child and this weekend was also our one year wedding anniversary, so I thought nothing would be better to surprise her with than a prenatal massage and a massage for myself to help with her ease some of the stress and pain associated with her pregnancy and relieve some of my stresses as well. After purchased the two vouchers, I scheduled our appointment with Back to Basics Massage for this morning (12/7/2013) @ 10:00am. My wife was SO excited about finally getting a professional massage when I told her on the way there, but everything went downhill after we arrived for our appointment. There was only one therapist there when we arrived. She received a call in the back room and when she returned to the waiting area, she told us that the other therapist was running a little bit late, but assured us that she was on her way, so we proceeded to fill out our paperwork. We waited for a while and the woman still hadn't shown up by our scheduled time, so the woman went back to the back again to place another call. When she returned to the waiting area, she apologized and said that unfortunately she was unable to reach the other therapist on the phone and said that the only option she had would be to push our appointment back to this evening. I told her that wouldn't work because I had made anniversary dinner plans. Other than offering us a later appointment time, the only other thing she said was that we could just schedule for another date. What was supposed to be a relaxing, stress-free and special time for my wife and I to share together turned out to leave me extremely angry and upset about my anniversary surprise being ruined and my wife being disappointed, upset and with no relief. I couldn't stand to see my wife upset and since a one year anniversary only happens once, I contacted a local competitor to beg them to fit us in today. They had an opening, so I booked an appointment with them, but ended up having to pay almost $160.00 for the session, which was $100.00 more than this nightmare "deal" offered through a local coupon website. Later this morning, the manager of Back to Basics Massage called us to try to offer an apology. Come to find out, the reason the other therapist wasn't there was that she over slept. I informed her that what happened this morning was absolutely unacceptable and that I also didn't appreciate the woman that was there lying to me when she said that she couldn't reach her, but that she was on her way. The manager was short with me on the phone and said, "All I can do is offer my apology, but what more do you want me to do about it?" I simply told her that it was bad business practice and that what transpired this morning drove two new customers away extremely unhappy with their day ruined and sent us directly to one of their local competitors who gladly accepted our business and magnified just how bad Back to Basics Massage handled our experience. Our day was almost ruined, our time was wasted and in order to salvage what was left of our anniversary plans, I ended up having to pay $100 more somewhere else. Think twice before booking with this place! They obviously offer lower prices to compensate for how bad they are with customer service and professionalism.

My wife and I were very much looking forward to a nice Groupon deal for a couples massage and foot treatment. When our vehicle broke down very late on the night before the appointment, we called early the next morning to reschedule, and left a voice mail. We didn't receive a call back until the appointment time, and we were told that since we didn't call 24 hours ahead, our appointment time was considered voided. They redeemed the Groupon without providing services, and without refunding our $110. Groupon refused to help us since they defer to the business's appointment standards. I understand that time is money, but when a customer has a legitimate reason for not making the appointment, and notifies them within a reasonable time, this does not excuse a business from outright thievery. They may be excellent massage therapists, but they do not understand customer service or reasonable business practices. Keep your wallet close and go elsewhere.
