My m and I recently visited Captiva Island from 10/20-11/2/2017 and since neither of us drive, we used Sanibel Taxi to get to and from the airport and various other places during our stay. Not only were they always there for us, the owner, manager and employees were very personable and extremely nice. We had a WONDERFUL experience and will use them anytime we are in Captiva and need transportation. They make you feel like a part of their family. Thank you for all you did and leaving us with an unforgettable experience. Love the company and everyone associated with them.

Sadly, I have to give a poor rating for this company.. Cars were clean and drivers were excellent.

The woman who handles the office is terrible. She kept mixing everything up. We wanting to be picked up at rental car facility and delivered to our hotel after turning in our rental car. Car never came, we called and she sent the car to the hotel instead. She called Wednesday night to say we would be picked up the next morning for drive to airport. I said no, no, we are to be picked up at nine on Friday, not Thursday. On Friday, our driver arrived late, because she sent him to the wrong hotel.

I asked her what is the problem here. She said the other taxi company undermines their business and sabotages their instructions. I call the other company, Sanibel Island Taxi, to see if this had happened. They said they had never heard of us. Just as I thought.

Our drivers were professional, cheerful, and great drivers. I fear this woman will destroy this company.

If you call, demand to talk to Jerry or Guy, don't work withKay.

DON'T RECOMMEND AT ALL! WE were given the number to Sanibel Taxi by the hotel front desk staff at West Wind Inn....UGH!!! Seriously unprofessional driver who pretended to "almost" run into us upon arrival. Only got worse from there as our young-ish male driver, MUN included, proceeded to raise serious red flags as to his sobriety / state of mind during our 1.5 mile ride to our destination . We were shocked to then get charged a whopping $15 for a heroing 1.5 mile ride to our destination. Sanibel Taxi seems to be the new NYC cab Co. with freakishly questionable drivers and outrageous rates to match. Called for an Uber ride back to our hotel which was a pleasant ride with a sober/sane driver who charged a reasonable rate of $6 bucks. Seriously....Sanibel Taxi needs to get it together!

FYI (an update to my original review and a response to the owner) - I am NOT in any way related to a competitor of this company. I live in Omaha, Nebraska and traveled to Sanibel for family vacation this last summer. This is a VERY deceitful organization. Original post as follows...
This is one of the most poorly run organizations that I have ever come across. They claim that competitors are writing false reviews, but I can assure you this one is very authentic. I submitted an online request for a reservation yesterday morning for a transfer from the house we were staying at in Captiva, to the airport in Ft Myers. After hearing nothing (I was supposed to get an email confirmation), I called in the afternoon to confirm. I spoke with a man who took all my information again (he said he wasn't near his computer and wanted to make sure he got it in right away), and even took my credit card information. At 9:05 the next morning, I had a bad feeling and called the company... no answer. I called again and again, getting nothing but a generic voicemail. Finally, after calling many times, a flustered man answered the phone. After I asked for an update on our driver, he sounded panicked and told us "I'm sorry ma'am, your driver wasn't sent. I will be there as quickly as I can." I demanded that he tell me exactly how long until he would be there (as we had a flight to catch) and he said 20 minutes. Almost 30 minutes go by and we end up having a family member who was traveling with us, empty her car, leave her luggage in our rental house, and take us to the airport (more than 2 hours out of her way). On our way there, I call the company again - to let them know they could forget it. I talk to a totally different person, who has no idea what I'm talking about. He had no record of my reservation and states "I don't even know which driver is on his way to get you right now." Unbelievable. I had FOUR points of contact with this company for a simple transfer to the airport and they STILL managed to completely drop the ball. He did apologize and offered a discounted ride next time we were on the island. Ummmm... no thank you. Luckily, we made it to the airport with just enough time.

Great experience! We were on the island for 3 days and used this company everyday-- always on time and always going above and beyond!! Highly recommend!
