Atmosphere great. Food not.

Tom+Chee's was an "event to look forward to" for us, as we'd see it on Shark Tank. The dining room was a comfortable, friendly place to eat. Big windows for plenty of natural light, enough muted colors to chill, no abrasive music. They have indoor and outdoor tables, as well as a long counter with tall seating where you can sit solo & watch the activity in the kitchen through a long plexiglass window. The soda fountain and buss-your-own platter areas were neat and well organized. The cashier was very personable and upbeat. Five stars for atmosphere.

The food wasn't to our taste. We got two types of grilled cheese sandwiches. Both were limp. There was enough cheese and butter(?) on both that they tasted super-greasy and had an uncomfortable texture for the tongue. The chunky tomato soup was akin to eating a can of stewed tomatoes mixed with a can of campbell's tomato soup with some extra spices thrown in. I had the traditional tomato soup, which was too acidic. We also had a side of macaroni and cheese, which tasted floury... the sauce had a paste-like consistency.

Another downside is that our silverware and dishes looked grungy.. the dishwasher hadn't gotten them clean. Old food particles were on my spoon and the limn of my soup cup. The kitchen looked clean and well-run through the window.

Five stars for atmosphere/staff. Zero stars for taste/texture of food. Hopefully it was an "off" day for the kitchen, but it left a bad enough taste in my mouth I won't go back to find out.

Excellent soup and sandwiches. I had the creamy tomato basil soup and the mac+chee sandwich. Soup was amazing and the sandwich was very creamy and delicious. Prices were good. Wish the portions were bigger, but there were options to make the sandwich bigger, that I opted not to take. Definitely recommend this place!

Every time I'm in Fort Collins, I stop here for lunch! It is delicious EVERY time! I usually get the Swiss n Shroom, but their sweeter sandwiches are to die for too! My four year old always asks for seconds when we go! Delicious! Plus, the price isn't bad and the staff are friendly!

Tomato basil chunky soup was amazing! I had the ham and cheese sandwich also, perfectly crunchy and cheese was nicely paired. Can't wait to try other offerings.

Been here three times, last one was on a rainy Sunday. Inside it was so hot and humid it was uncomfortable; either they turned off the AC or it was not working correctly or maybe they just like it feeling like a hothouse. Register worker was polite and efficient. Ordered a BLT + Chee and a bowl of what was purported to be pea soup with bacon.
The soup was close to inedible... apparently dropping a whole box of Cajun spicing in the mix and not telling the customer that is acceptable. I like Louisiana food but this was way too spicy and over powering. My sandwich was okay except for the fact it promptly disassembled itself into it's component parts when picked up. The whole point behind a grilled cheese sandwich is that the cheese is supposed to melt and hold everything together. Empirical evidence would suggest the kitchen was having a bad day...except for the fact the previous visit had the same lack of attention to detail evident in this visit. Not on my places to visit again anytime soon.
