A great place to wind down from an hectic week with affordable beers and pizzas, The Afrikan Freedom Station also hosts regular jazz concerts and intriguing fusion concerts; the latest featured an entrancing mixture of a sitar player, saxophonist and vocalist (I forgot the name of the band).

Chat to the owner for guidance on the best pizza to try, the hey-days of Jazz in South Africa (the bar is a few blocks from the hub of South African jazz in the 50s Sophiatown) or even where to find the coolest vintage fashion finds (the bar also hosts vintage clothing store pop- ups).
