To be honest, I have always been complacent about my health and fitness - if I even jog just once a week, I'd be clapping myself on the back. Sure, there are always aches and soreness from daily activities, but everybody has them, isn't it? So, before joining FTI and training under May, I was sceptical in seeing improvements in my body and fitness.
After joining FTI, May shared with me theory about body aches and applied her knowledge and expertise as a Master Rehabilitation Trainer to relieve aches, correct my posture and strengthen my body overall. It was amazing to me how simple tweaks in common exercises can work different muscles altogether. I often walked away from my session feeling 'loosened up' and 'light'.
My training with May made a subtle but essentially positive change to my body. My fitness level also improved. As a result, I feel more confident about myself and not complacent about my body.
On top of that, being in FTI is like being in a gym with friends. The staff are always friendly. I dare say now, that going to gym at FTI is like attending a therapeutic yet energising session.

A testimonial from Monica Guevara: "I relocated to Singapore early in 2012. I had been running for three years training for half-marathons and doing weight training. I stopped running long-distances when I got injured with plantar fasciitis while training for a third half-marathon in September, 2011.Later, I found out I was pregnant, so I continued with weight training but cut back running. Getting back into running after my pregnancy was tough, and I was afraid as I still had plantar fasciitis, which had worsened because of the additional weight gained during pregnancy.

Functional Training Institute is not your everyday gym.
Right off the bat, FTI calls themselves an Institute instead of a gym, and i agree with that.
Within the short amount of time i spent there, i learned so much about my own body, and how to keep fit and healthy with simple yet functional exercises.
The trainers are well versed and never fail to make me feel that i am in good hands, the staff are incredibly friendly as well, and i feel like im at home when im there.
If you are looking for a beneficial and comfortable way to keep fit and stay healthy, FTI is the right place for you!

Functional Training Institute is a very different from other commercial gyms where they specialize in functional training and rehabilitation. They relieve pain and believe in training/exercising injury-free. It is a gym that welcomes people of all ages from young children to the elderly, focusing on one-one personal training. The environment and FTI team are extremely friendly and fun, making it possibly the best place in Singapore to work out in. FTI constantly motivate and inspire me to keep fit and Live Life with Zest!
