This complex is comprised of three parts, so be sure you go to all of them.
First there is a gallery with temporary exhibitions, then there is marshal Tito's mausoleum and an open museum depo.
As this is the final resting place of marshal Tito, it is regarded as a near holy ground and people still come here to pay their respect to a leader of a once great country.
It's a shrine of nostalgia for the olden days for visitors from former Yugoslavia states, but perhaps not so interesting for people that had not experienced its glory.

A part of 45 years long history of former SFRJ (Yugoslavia) can be found here, a place where its legendary WW2 leader "Tito" was buried, a must see place in Belgrade.

A, well-maintained museum who keeps pace with time and will always provide tourists with relevant, objective and interesting information about the history of Former Yugoslavia and it culture, as well as different parts modern Balkan culture.

Definitely a "must see" museum and an astonishing place. Complex has 3 different areas, main building whit the small "six torches" monument, representing six republics that made ex Yugoslavia, and quite nice fountain. House of flowers is the second building uphill and there is the resting place of Tito and his wife Jovanka. On the right side of the tomb is his work room as it was in the residency, replica of Tito's train and on the left are batons that were cared on his birthday by the best athletes, workers and presented to him personally. On the left is the house of the old museum where you can see just a bit of the gifts that Tito received from all over the world, some of them from the II century, medals, guns, uniforms, guns...just in that part you can spend hours.

This museum has three parts: the main building exhibition, the mausoleum and the storeroom. My son is 13 years old and actually didn't complain about being in a museum AT ALL. We loved all the exhibitions. It was very well planned. The atmosphere is excellent. The use of space was clever and functional. We learned soooo much. I experienced cognitive dissonance, which is what a museum should do to your brain. There was no where to get food or water, so bring some snacks for hungry kids.
