Bond St Bar

I bought a groupon to this the New Bond St Bar, thinking that 40 bucks for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 drinks, and 2 desserts was going to be a good deal. I was SO wrong! We booked in advance and were not told it was quiz night. we were seated directly underneath the quiz night TV blaring audio clues from crackling speakers turned up way too loud. The air was so cold we couldn't take our coats off. The food was terrible: all the starters were deep-fried, made mistake of getting fish and chips. The batter was white and pasty and the fish wasn't good enough to finish. The salad she got with her fish and chips was the same as the salad I had which was supposed to be "roasted kumara salad" - both had way too much uncooked red onion. My beetroot was not "spiced" it had no added flavors. There was no coriander in my "Coriander and Ginger Prawn Cutlets" (just battered prawns with the onion salad and a few cold roasted veggies on side). We couldn't finish our food. We left early without even getting dessert as it was cold, noisy, and we knew we could have a better dessert at home. The worst part was that we still had stomach aches until the following afternoon (from the worst deep-fried food I've maybe ever had). Sorry this sounds so rough. We had a good laugh about it; worst date night ever!
