Georgian wine’s history is one of the oldest
in Europe. Nowadays,
Georgia has earliest signs, which indicate that the
wine culture there counts approx. 7000 years
and it gives to the country the status of the
wine country. During centuries until now, Georgian people are regularly improving species of
wine and today Georgian
wine and Cognac has especial taste
and aroma on the world market.
Day 1: (20 km
and 20 min. driving, 3 hours excursion)
Arrival. Transfer from the airport. Hotel check-in.
In the evening we will have an excursion
in Tbilisi. We will see sides of old Tbilisi, like the biggest Orthodox church
in Caucasus Sameba (XXI c), Fortress Narikala, from where you can see beautiful view of old Tbilisi. Later we will walk down street Shardeni, where are most luxurious cafés, bars, restaurants, casinos
and shops. We'll have dinner at the restaurant tasting Georgian national dishes
and wine.
At about 21:00 pm, we will return to the hotel.
Day 2: (175 km 2. 40 hour driving, 8 hour excursion)
After breakfast we will move to one of the historical regions of
Georgia Kakheti. First we will visit the Monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe. It is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex
and the seat of the Bishops of Bodbe. After this we'll have a picnic
in nature
and next we will move the "City of Love" Signaghi, which is surrounded by walls. The city has a very interesting architecture.
After Signaghi we will go to Telavi, which is capital of Khaketi. We will visit there Georgian tradition family
and we will have dinner with Georgian table head
and so we will have opportunity to take part lay the table
and baking tradition Georgian bread. Also we will acquaint with technology of traditional
Georgia vodka “Tchacha” distillation
and we will taste it.
Overnight
in Telavi.
Day 3: (40. 45 hour driving, 9 hour excursion)
In the morning after breakfast we will visit the Alexander Chavchavadze Museum
in Tsinandali. There was built one of the first
wine cellar
in Georgia, where he kept a cellar (20, 000 bottles of
wine from different countries). We will taste one of especially species of
wine in Tsinandali. This museum is also amazing for its exotic plants, gardens
and unique archive.
Then we will have a picnic
in nature, where we will roast together barbecue on flames. After this we will visit “Teliani Valley’s”
wine factory. We will introduce with technology of
wine distillation, we will see vineyards
and have
wine tasting.
After this we will visit Alaverdi monastery, which was founded
in the middle of VI century by Joseph Alaverdely. The cathedral is one of the largest
and most important architectural monuments
in Georgia, Which includes the oldest cellar
and unique architecture. The temple geographical location is very attractive; it is located open field of river Alazani
and in the background with snow-capped Caucasus Mountains.
After Alaverdi we will have dinner
in the restaurant
and we will overnight
in Telavi.
Day 4: (150 km. 2. 30 minutes driving, 8 hour excursion)
After breakfast
in the morning we will move
in the direction to Tbilisi
and we will visit
Cognac factory “Sarajishvili”. This company is a leader
in this field. There are producing 15 different kinds of production
in the factory
and offering to their customers best high quality product. We will see the factory, acquaint with the technology of making
Cognac and at last we will taste different kinds of
Cognac.
After this we will have lunch
in café-bar
and move to the first capital of
Georgia Mtskheta, which is called as town-museum. It has been listed
in the cultural heritages of UNESCO.
At first we will visit church Jvari (VI c. ), situated on a hilltop at the confluence of the river Kura
and Aragvi.
Afterwards we will visit the Patriarchal Cathedral Church Svetitskhoveli (VI-XI cc). Svetitskhoveli, known as the burial site of Christ's mantle, has long been the principal Georgian church
and remains one of the most venerated places of worship to this day.
After excursion we will have dinner
in one of Georgian traditional restaurant
in Mtskheta
and later we will return to Tbilisi. Overnight
in Tbilisi.
Day 5: Tbilisi-Ethnographic Museum-Tbilisi airport (30 km. 35 minutes driving, 3 hour excursion)
After breakfast we will visit Tbilisi Ethnographic Museum. This is a museum
in the open air, where are presented zones of different Georgian regions with Characteristic elements. After this we will have some free time for buying souvenirs
and taking pictures.
Transfer to the airport. Return to homeland with unforgettable memories
and tastes.
