We booked a car on line. It was confirmed. We then turned up at the designated time at their office in Las Condes. They didn't have our car ready, or any other cars for that matter! Nothing for the whole day! The girl at the counter was rude and completely uncooperative. She said that their web site was not functioning ( be warned) and offered no alternatives: she basically told us to get lost. Don't use this Company, or of you do, be prepared to expect the worst customer service imaginable!
But wait there is more! We then went to the airport. On line Alamo were the cheapest so we went to their kiosk first, thinking that maybe Las Condes was just a one-off. No. The airport counter jockey was also offensively rude. He said their US based on line booking system didn't interface with the Chilean system so essentially their on line bookings were totally unreliable. Also if you book a car there is an hour wait. They have to clean it. So the returned cars stay dirty until they need one! Yuk!!
We gave up and took our business elsewhere, where the service was excellent. I suggest you do the same.

I have rented cars in many countries, but this is probably the worst customer service ever. Charged extra 15,000+tax for cleaning 'mud' on the front of the car that we could have easily cleaned off with a paper towel... What a joke! We offered to even quickly clean it ourselves, but they wouldn't let us anymore... Horrible service

Worst experience in Chile, after trying almost every rental company (Econorent, Europcar, Chileanrentacar and others...). And it happened twice:
In Puerto Montt, they tried to cheat on us by giving a car cheaper than what we paid for. We noticed it later and had to loudly complain to pay the fair price.
In Punta Arenas they directly gave us a car that missed revision and that went into troubles during our trip. We fixed it, and our mistake was to notify them of their bad practice: they took advantage on us as we were tourists, and debit CLP 370,000 after we left the airport.

It was the first and only time I had troubles in Chile, after 3 years living here. By sharing this story with local friends, every of them that contracts Alamo had troubles, with this king of cheating methods.

In conclusion, I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Absolutely terrible customer service. We waited 1 hour for the car and needed to be driven to another location to pick the car up. Employees were not helpful and the vehicle we rented was in terrible condition-various warning lights and was not clean. We also witnessed terrible service to other customers.
