This rail line was built by the Ontario and Quebec Railway which began in 1881 from Perth, Tweed, Havelock and North Toronto. It was leased to CPR for 999 years and finally taken over by CP completly. It connected to Toronto Union Station in 1893. Looking NE. Toronto Junction to Havelock.
It is hard to tell that a railway once ran here going NE. It was the Port Hope, Lindsay and Beaverton Railway (PHL&B). The tracks have been gone for a half century now. On the ground, this path can only be see by driving east on the road. You can see extensions of this path on the west side of the airport heading south west in the satellite photo.
Rotary Greenway Trail, built on the interconnect for the PHL&B railway bed north of Moir St. and the Cobourg and Peterborough (C&P) railway near Hazlitt St. The C&P lasted from 1855 to 1918.
